I tried a couple of advices i found online but in the meantime it was loosing battery until it turned off and know I'm stuck with a dead MacBook that won't charge in any way.ĭid anybody experience anything like this and knows how to deal with such thing? I am wondering if anybody can help as it looks more like some sort of software issue rather than just a physical problem on the ports as the devices work on Windows. I guess you would then connect the Macbook power adapter with USB-C directly into the USB-C VGA Multi port connector which has the USB-C port. ![]() Connect a USB-C VGA Multi port connector on the new 12' Macbook then a regular VGA(male) connector between the display to the Macbook. While it’s still present on the MacBook Air, it’s absent from both the MacBook and the new MacBook Pro. Connect a Mini Display port to VGA connector to the Thunderbolt display. With a lot of patience i turned it on and it said it had 20% of battery left still and that my HDD has been ejected.įrom that moment my USB ports haven't worked on MacOS (the HDD couldn't get recognized, the mouse didn't work and it was not charging), I tried to turn it off and wait, i tried to load up Windows on BOOTCAMP and I noticed that the USB devices worked but it still wasn't charging. With the switch over to USB-C for charging, MagSafe is almost nowhere in sight. Ive been using my MacBook pro charger with my pixel for a long time and its worked really well but I know (or I think) that the OnePlus 6 doesnt support USB PD but will it be safe to charge the OP6 with the MacBook charger. When I came back the MacBook was powered off so I thought it ran out of battery (it was a bit weird but maybe transferring files was an intense process). I left my MacBook once I started moving a big folder, in that moment it had a pretty good amount of battery left and it was plugged into an external HDD and to the phone obviously. ![]() I was transferring some data from my old Android to my MacBook using the original USB-C - USB-C cable and Android's official Mac App for moving files between the 2 devices. But more to it, the new MacBook Pro returns to the newly improved MagSafe making Apple’s connector strategy even. ![]() SORRY FOR THE LONG MESSAGE BUT I WILL TRY TO MENTION EVERYTHING.ĭevice: MacBook Pro 13" Intel 2020 (with 2 USB-C ports / 1 for charging). I have other chargers that are capable of the same 20V 3A profile (confirmed with usb testers), and when the mac is completely off, it seems only the Apple charger is able of kickstarting it. The rest: MacBooks, iPad Mini, Air, and Pro uses USB-C or Thunderbolt 4 cable.
